The most attentive eyes will have noticed that in Saturday's FA Cup semi-final Manchester City took to the pitch without displaying the logo of the famous English competition. It is not the first time this has happened, many times the team of president Khaldun al-Mubarak, keeping faith with its agreements with Ethiad, main sponsor of the club and the stadium, has preferred to keep Emirates, sponsor of the English competition and one of the main competitors of the Arab company, out of the shirt. On the other hand, it is impossible to think that the English club risks losing one of the biggest and most profitable agreements in sport, capable of strengthening City's position over the years as one of the football teams with unprecedented financial power.

Already in 2014 the team coached by Guardiola had been the protagonist of a similar episode, when instead of the badge, they showed up on the field a revamp to their sponsor, renaming it "Choose Etihad Airways". It was an episode that will not be repeated, however, as Manchester were eliminated by Klopp's team who dominated away from home, winning 2-3. It also seems that City will not receive any sanction from the league, despite showing up without a badge, a very controversial situation that can undoubtedly set a pretty set precedent.
