There were some problems with the new Vicenza jersey The new creation of Lotto and Diesel did not convince the fans at all

This weekend Vicenza surprised everyone by releasing a new and special jersey for the club's 120th anniversary, which is the result of a close collaboration between Diesel's designers and Lotto's know-how. A creative project strongly desired by Patron Renzo Rosso, owner of the club and Diesel, who during the pre-match interview stated that he personally designed "ICON", the new jersey, enhancing its futuristic composition. The uniform, however, despite the design that in the intentions of the patron reinterprets the tradition and its usual stripes was not very appreciated by the fans who already a few days after the announcement had asked the team and the company to present on the field with the first jersey.

Obviously the request was not accepted by the club, who on Saturday in the victorious Lega B match against Ternana, showed up anyway with the jersey conceived and designed by Renzo Rosso. A choice that obviously did not go down well with the fans, who during the ninety minutes dedicated several against the club and the decision to ignore their requests. Renzo Rosso, however, did not remain defenceless in front of those choirs, a bit offensive as he said himself at the end of the match, reacting with gestures of anger from the stands. The reaction obviously did not go unnoticed by the fans, who waited for the president at the end of the match to discuss the incident, but the tones actually degenerated, with the same patron of the red and white team who closed the question as follows: "I expect an apology for these chants on the shirt, because I am one of the greatest creatives in the world of fashion.

An issue that has angered fans and club alike and created a big rift just before the important anniversary. Yesterday came the latest response from the club, which in a statement admitted that the last forty-eight hours have been characterised by events that have led to an exasperation of tones and relationships, admitting that everyone has been caught and overtaken by emotion.

"As we have always reiterated, the red and white colours are important, as is safeguarding the history of this club, which did not want to be called into question with the use of a third uniform in a championship match, moreover in limited edition, which revisited the style in a modern key, while maintaining the colours that belong to us."

A clash hopefully destined to come to an end as soon as possible, a party of simple horizontal and vertical red stripes broken up but which has generated a whirlwind of controversy destined not to stop, given that the president is intent on having the team take to the field with the jersey he designed.
