Viggo Mortensen showed up at the Oscars with a San Lorenzo vest Corazón Azulgrana

Tonight was held at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles, the 91st Academy Awards.
On the red carpet, they have "marched" all the most important celebrities of the world including, obviously, Oscar candidates.

Here, in the nss sports newsroom, however, one above all has attracted our attention: Viggo Mortensen.
Candidate as best actor for Green Book, who won the Oscar for Best Picture, Viggo has seen Rami Malek won in his category for his performance in Bohemian Rapsody.

During the interview on the red carpet, issued to TNT strictly in Spanish, Viggo showed the San Lorenzo logo sewed on the vest that he wore under his jacket and concluded the conversation with Axel Kushevatzky in this way:"¡Aguante el Ciclón!" as a true fan. The logo of the Boedo district of Buenos Aires was pinned to the left, on the heart, because Viggo Mortensen is hopelessly in love with the Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro

It is not the first time that the American actor shows his crazy love for the club, already during the 2017 ceremony, when he was nominated, always as best actor for Capitan Fantastic, he exhibited the team's crest live on TV; at Cannes in 2014 he was photographed with the Cuervos flag and with a sign saying "QUEREMOS LA COPA", referring to the Libertadores that that year saw the triumph of San Lorenzo against the Club Nacional. In 2008, however, during the after-party of the Oscars, he was photographed with Cate Blanchett putting on her belly the San Lorenzo flag.

It all began during the childhood spent between Venezuela, Denmark, and Argentina, in Buenos Aires, where he attended a primary school that allows him to learn Spanish that speaks perfectly even now. The father ran a ranch also working for farms dealing with the breeding of chickens. Viggo's Argentine experience lasts until the age of 11 when his parents' divorce and, together with his father, returns to the United States. But it is precisely during the time spent in Buenos Aires that begins the romance with the Gauchos de Boedo that continues today and seems to be getting stronger. He always carries an object that reminds him of San Lorenzo, a pendant, a bracelet or anything else, as long as he has the club's colors, red and blue.

Guest of the Argentine radio show Vorterix in 2012, conducted by Mario Pergolini, Mortensen said that during the filming of the trilogy "The Lord of the Rings", in many scenes he wore under the stage costumes, the shirt of Beto Acosta, former player who dressed on four different occasions (1988-1990; 1991-1993; 1997-1998; 2001-2003) the azulgrana shirt. In the same interview, he confessed to having "corrupted" the costume designers to wear stage clothes that had the colors of the club. The love for San Lorenzo is so strong that, the director of Green Book, Peter Farrelly, during an interview released on this year's red carpet, said that during a day of very intense shooting, Viggo still managed to see a game of the azulgrana despite being "practically impossible":

"I do not know how he did it but he did it"

Whenever he has the chance, he goes to the "Pedro Bidegain" (El Nuevo Gasómetro), the San Lorenzo stadium, to cheer for the gauchos; in the year of the centenary of the Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro in 2008, Viggo was appointed ambassador of the club and confessed that despite his great career as an actor, his greatest pride is to be a fan of San Lorenzo indeed, "hijo de San Lorenzo"
