The five heirs of Fellaini's haircuts

Since the Belgian midfielder has cut his hair it's time to find the right substitutes

The five heirs of Fellaini's haircuts Since the Belgian midfielder has cut his hair it's time to find the right substitutes

November 14, 2018 was not an ordinary day, but the date when Marouane Fellaini decided to cut his hair, saying goodbye to his haircut, probably the most famous in the football world. The gesture of the Manchester United midfielder, combined with the downsizing of David Luiz's hair and the radar's disappearance of Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Fabricio Coloccini, has in fact opened a void, followed by the birth of a new era: we have chosen five new longhairs that are, or will soon be, protagonists on soccer fields all over the world.

Matteo Guendouzi

If you have watched the new Unai Emery's Arsenal, you have certainly noticed an unusual foliage trotting in the middle of the pitch: we are talking about the French midfielder of Moroccan origins that the Gunners bought in the summer from the second transalpine division, and precisely from Lorient. Guendouzi is just 19 years old and since the first matches seems a very interesting player, even more so because few were expecting that he would have been used so much in the first part of the season.

Hamza Choudhury

Staying in the Premier League and precisely in Leicester, where little by little a young midfielder is gaining more and more space in the Foxes' squad that is impossible not to notice for its look as a 60s musician. He is half from Bangladesh and half a from Grenada, but having been born in England he decided to wear the Three Lions' shirt, with which she recently won the Toulon Tournament. With him in the starting lineup against Chelsea, Manchester City and Everton, his team has never lost.

Tahith Chong

From Leicester to Manchester, in the United side, where just yesterday in the FA Cup made a debut a very talented 1999 born right wing that we had already seen at work last summer in the pre-season friendlies: it's called Tahith Chong, is Dutch from Curaçao, has Chinese origins and comes from the Academy of Feyenoord. He play on the right zone, even if he is left-handed, and it's impossible not to notice him when he is in the field, for his size and his thick dark hair.

Ethan Ampadu

The 2000 class is a real predestined: in the first team with only 15 years at Exeter, he made his debut with Chelsea at 17 and currently is in the first team, as Sarri has often preferred him to more experienced players as Cahill. He has already decided which National team to play with, despite having been spoiled for choice: between Ireland, his father's country, England, Ghana and Wales, the mother's country of origin, has chosen the last one. In the meantime, he shows off a somewhat 'upset' haircut with long messy dreadlocks.

Omar Abdulrahman

Although not very young, it's true, remains one of the best known players in the Middle East Asia: he's Saudi but has always played in the United Arab Emirates and the UAE national team, even if a bad injury will prevent him to help his teammates in the Asian Cup just started. It's no coincidence that his nickname is Amoory, which literally means 'big curly'.

Bonus - Kevin Mbabu

Many of you will have noticed him in the current Champions League edition as one of the most surprising right-back: the young Young Boys defender actually has very little in common with Fellaini, but much more with Bacary Sagna and his colored haircut. Mbabu has also moved from the Premier League, and precisely from Newcastle, while now playing in Switzerland and has touched the call in the last World Cup. He is also a third-generation footballer, given the French and Congolese origins.
