During the last night event in London where Nike Football presented the new Mercurial Vapor and Superfly 360, we had the chance to get a first look at two items that are part of the hyped Nike x Off-White World Cup collection. At the presence of Virgil Abloh himself, a pair of Off-White Mercurial VaporMax - worn by the designer - and a football shirt, exposed in a case, have been presented.

The football shirt perfectly represents the attenuation of the difference between on and off-pitch outfit, creating that “cross-cultural design” that Abloh has always asserted. The jersey is inspired by a Nike shirt for the Netherland National team, and in fact, it has the crest on the chest and the orange color for some detailing. Then, it has a black and white chess pattern, with the “Off-White” writing as the jersey sponsor. A shirt that, as Nike says, “will redefine how you see the game.”

As part of the Nike Football x Off-White collection, Abloh also showed a pair of Off-White Mercurial VaporMax at his feet during the Q&A at the London event. On the orange shoe, that should be the central color of this collection, have been inserted the iconic writings of Abloh’s brand, other than a series of white and azure details. Then, the inevitable “address”: Off-White for NIKE / “NIKE MERCURIAL VAPORMAX” / Beaverton, Oregon USA / c. 2018.
