The return of the legend: adidas unveiled the Predator 18+

There has been a moment of shared sadness when, back in 2015, adidas Football sent the Predator, legendary football boots that since 1994 has been worn by some of the most representative athletes of the Three Stripes, on retirement for good. From Zidane to Del Piero, of course stepping by the man that more than anyone is associated with the Predator - and in fact, he has been honored with a dedicated capsule - David Beckham. After putting them in the attic, adidas launched a new silo, the ACE Purecontrol, that even if it didn’t last relatively long, without warming the fans’ hearts up, let the Three Stripes experiment new solutions and technologies, that contributed to the resurrection of the legend. Because yes, the adidas Predator is back.

After teasing us in the last months with some capsule collections and special colorways - that involved models of the Mania, Precision, and Accelerator - adidas Football announced the unavoidable return of the most iconic football boots in the world: the Predator 18+. The new boot is part of the Skystalker pack, that will also see new versions of the X and the Nemeziz, and it’s also available in the Street and Cage versions. It’s the first Predator with the SOCKFIT COLLAR, that naturally expands to ensure the foot with the most comfortable fit. The black, red, and gold colorway is inspired by the most representative Predator models, that in this version integrates a layer of CONTROLSKIN on the Primeknit upper, for an optimal ball control in every situation.

As we said, the new Predator 18+ features some of the technologies tested on the old ACE, like the PURECUT LACELESS system, that expands the control surface at its maximum, while the FORGED KNIT support structure creates stability to support the most complex movements. A renewed CONTROLFRAME sole has been designed to stabilize the grip, while a new type of studs configuration improves the traction on the ground. Finally, the BOOST midsole guarantees the maximum return of energy at every acceleration. The new adidas Predator 18+ will be worn by some players like Paul Pogba, Dele Alli, Ivan Rakitic and Mesut Ozil. You can already pre-order it at prodirectsoccer.com.
