La Schedina, Italian Dream

Away from the betting scandals, from the made-up games and the betting agencies on the shirts there was la Schedina. The popular betting system created by Massimo della Pergola on May the 5th of 1946 had the merit to make an entire nation fall in love with football and create a ritual – the one of the Saturday afternoon – that involved everyone.

La Schedina used to work differently from the modern systems. All the league games were played in the same time, and you needed to guess 12 or 11 results to win the prize.

But the Schedina also was a symbol of the aesthetics of Italy and is now became a real vintage piece.
