What is the new Dark Mode on Instagram? The new feature released in the latest app update

After removing the "Following" section, in the new app update, Instagram has released the Dark Mode feature, the new setting allows users to opt for a black and grey display instead of the app’s standard white one.

If you are wondering if the dark mode can be something similar to the incognito on the internet you're getting it wrong: according to Instagram, dark mode leads to less eye strain than an all-white display, and the setting also prolongs battery life since darker pixels require less power than lighter ones. In short, it works for night scrolling, not for anonymous stalking and is one of the design changes in line with the revolution that the social network has initiated by removing likes. Instagram started with a rather rigid design that the users had to adapt to, but today the social media is trying to moderate the elements of anxiety and dependence, trying to move the user activity to stories and spaces as much as possible private.
