The Skate & Surf Film Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary with a traveling edition The festival will take place in Milan, Vicopisano, and Trieste
2026 marks an important milestone for SSFF: the Skate & Surf Film Festival will celebrate its tenth anniversary with the special 10th year edition, spanning three stops (Milan, Vicopisano, and Trieste) between June and September 2026. Founded in 2016 in Milan from an idea by Onde nostre / Block 10, the festival has created a cross-cultural platform, becoming one of Europe’s leading reference points for international cinema connected to surf and skate culture.
The 10th year edition will kick off on June 7 at Piccolo Teatro Strehler in Milan, where the special premiere powered by Red Bull, Now days, will be screened — a story about the new generation of contemporary female surfing through friendship, competition, and the pursuit of personal limits. Following this, Antarctica Domain One will tell the story of two Argentine brothers among the ice of Antarctica in search of the perfect wave, in a documentary dedicated to skate legend Phil Shao. Special attention will also be given to the Milan skate scene through the screening of No place like home by René Olivo. Outside the theaters, with the support of the Juter Skateboarding team, the iconic stairways of Largo Greppi will host the skate event featuring a stop of the Brooklyn Skateboarding Tour Contest and the Red Bull Highest Ollie competition.
On July 18 and 19, the festival will change scenery and move to Vicopisano in Tuscany, where the village will host a new stop of the Brooklyn Skateboarding Tour Contest. The grand finale is scheduled for September 12 and 13 in Trieste: in collaboration with La Cappella Underground, at the Cinema Ariston, not only will the winning films of the new edition be screened and awarded, but the festival will also look back with a retrospective of the best content that has defined its ten-year history, alongside premieres and talks with key figures from the international skate and surf scene. Here too, the Juter Skateboarding team will support the final stop of the Brooklyn Skateboarding Tour Contest, completing the circle of this traveling edition.
With the support of long-standing partners such as Red Bull, Brooklyn, and Juter, the festival continues to stand as a safe harbor for an authentic and constantly growing community.
