Instagram bans the word #curvy

The hashtag #curvy has been banned from instagram.

If the world seems to you completely innocent (a part from reminding you of a very sensual imagery), instagram doesn’t agree with you. A spokesperson of the company declared that the hashtag has been banned not because of its intrinsic meaning, but because most part of the images associated to it that were posted violated the terms of the community.

However it is curious to think that words like #thin and #skinny can still circulate freely on the social network. If by the way you still want to use the word “curvy” for your pictures, you can keep on using #curvygirl, #curvyfashion and #curvywomen.

Now the real question is: was it really worth it?
