080 Barcelona Fashion Is Ready for Its 38th Edition The Catalan fashion week is becoming increasingly international
From October 20 to 23, 2026, Marina Vela-Port Vell, on Barcelona's waterfront, will host the 38th edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion. Four days during which the Mediterranean waterfront will become the epicenter of Catalan fashion, featuring 26 runway shows, the fifth edition of 080 REBORN, and a packed program of parallel activities. The event, promoted by the Government of Catalonia through the Department of Enterprise and Labor and the Consorci de Comerç, Artesania i Moda (CCAM), has the Ajuntament de Barcelona as a strategic partner and the support of the Diputació de Barcelona. Year after year, the platform is increasingly becoming a driving force for transformation in the Catalan fashion industry at both national and international level, offering designers and the industry a space for dialogue to explore new ways of expressing, consuming, and connecting.
The runway shows will be concentrated at Marina Vela-Port Vell, a spectacular venue that foregrounds the city's maritime identity and its futuristic architecture. The program unfolds over four days, packed with shows from morning to evening, complemented by a free-access Open Area where the runway shows will be livestreamed alongside other side activities.
Among the most established and recognized names on the lineup are Custo Barcelona, the historic brand that has become a symbol of the city; Dominnico, celebrating its tenth anniversary; Louis Gabriel Nouchi, winner of the ANDAM Grand Prix and creator of the costumes for the opening ceremony of the Paris Paralympics; Escorpion, a knitwear brand founded in 1929 and a benchmark for sophisticated design and sustainability; Guillermina Baeza, the storied swimwear label; SKFK, Sohuman, and Surkana, alongside many other local names and emerging talents such as 404 Studio, Acceptance Letter, Aleixandri Studio, Antonio Acuario, Benavente, Bibencia, Boltad, Compte Spain, Crypta, David Catalán, Gau, Inma Linares, L'Amar, Nathalie Chandler, O'Barret, Outsiders Division, and Pat Equilux.
080 REBORN and the role of circular fashion
An essential part of the program is also the fifth edition of 080 REBORN, the initiative that promotes the value of secondhand clothing and raises consumer awareness around a hybrid approach to consumption that also embraces pre-owned garments. Produced in collaboration with the Agència de Residus de Catalunya and Girbau Lab, and under the creative direction of the duo Fermín + Gilles, the project creates collections exclusively from garments recovered from secondhand shops, social organizations, recycling facilities, and vintage markets.
This edition's collection, titled Nòmade, brings the idea of migration into the world of secondhand fashion — garments that change owners, places, and contexts, accumulating new experiences and meanings. The garment is conceived as a living, ever-moving archive. In May 2026, 080 REBORN left its usual fashion week space for the first time for a retrospective at the Museu d'Art Modern de Tarragona, tracing the project's conceptual, aesthetic, and social evolution. In the Open Area, a dedicated installation will also be on display, revisiting previous editions from the "Segona vida" of 2022 to the explorations of denim, countercultures, and literary imaginaries.
Other scheduled activities
The Open Area, as mentioned, will host a variety of offerings. The main one is 080Spot_SpainGallery, bringing together around twenty independent clothing and accessories brands connected to designer fashion, craftsmanship, and local production. The program includes talks on fashion and social media, content creation, and AI-driven campaigns, as well as various workshops on customization, experimental fabrics, visual art applied to fashion, and glass jewelry.
There will also be 080_BeyondCrafts, now in its second edition in partnership with Artesania Catalunya, which will dedicate a space to reflection on contemporary craftsmanship and its relationship with fashion and culture. This year's focus, "Ceci n'est pas une sabata", explores footwear: from the traditional espadrille to Goodyear construction, from bespoke shoes to digital fabrication.
Then there is the major new addition of PLEC – Barcelona Cultura de Moda, a city-wide platform launched by the Ajuntament de Barcelona as part of the Pla estratègic de moda 2025-30. Its aim is to strengthen fashion by taking it beyond the runway and connecting it to the life of the city through two main initiatives: the first is PLEC · Barcelona Cultura de Moda · Vol. 1, taking place on October 21 and 22 at the Tinglados del Port Vell with an archival installation curated by Luis Venegas, talks, and music; there will also be a fitted trailer with a screen that will bring the runway shows to various city squares (including Plaça de Can Fabra, Plaça de les Glòries, Plaça del Mar, and Plaça Comercial al Born), allowing residents to experience fashion week out on the streets. Finally, rounding out the program is TexMeeting by Texfor 2026, to be held on October 21 and dedicated to artificial intelligence and its impact on the textile industry.
080 Barcelona Fashion presents itself as a showcase for a dynamic and innovative sector, deeply rooted in its territory yet with an international outlook. With PLEC and the initiatives spread throughout the city, the 2026 edition also aims to give the "front row" back to the people, transforming fashion week into a shared urban experience. The 38th edition thus confirms 080 Barcelona Fashion as a platform capable of fostering dialogue between creativity, industry, and society, projecting Catalan fashion beyond its local borders.
