nss magazine presents three days of talks and immersive experiences with TheOtherWay To talk about literature, business and creativity from fresh perspectives
This Fashion Week, nss magazine invites you to take part in three days of events to look at the fashion industry through a different lens. This is how TheOtherWay was born — a project that will host some of the most relevant voices in the contemporary fashion landscape to discuss literature, business and creativity from fresh perspectives. Scheduled for September 23, 24 and 28, TheOtherWay will come to life across three unique cultural venues in Milan, before also being available via streaming on nss channels.
On Wednesday, September 23, Francesco Risso, designer and creative director of GU, and Alex Sossah, creative director and founder of Metallic Inc, will inaugurate A Night at the Bureau, an evening of conversation and dining at the Bureau of Imagination, a hybrid creative project founded by Risso and Sossah where fashion, art, objects and archive come together in a single space. Over dinner at the Bureau, with a menu curated by chef Ferdinando Colombo, guests will be invited to take part in an open conversation — filmed for nss channels — on the theme of creativity.
On Thursday, September 24, TheOtherWay moves into the Stone Island showroom on Via Tortona for an event dedicated to literature. Eugene Rabkin, journalist, fashion critic and founder of the platform StyleZeitgeist, will present his new book Torn: Fashion and Postmodernism. Published by Zer0 Books, the book traces the last twenty-five years of the industry to analyze the way in which postmodernism, commerce and contemporary culture have transformed fashion, questioning what creativity and originality can mean today. Joining Rabkin in conversation will be Robert Triefus, CEO of Stone Island, in a discussion moderated by Davide Coppo, writer, journalist and editor of Rivista Studio.
On September 28, TheOtherWay turns its attention to the fashion business, bringing together Silvio Campara, CEO of Golden Goose, and Luca Santeramo, founder of 545, to discuss what it means today to build a brand capable of starting from a local dimension and establishing itself on a global scale. The final installment of TheOtherWay will be held at the Golden Goose Arena, the Venetian brand's new Milan space conceived as a meeting point between sport, creativity and culture. The talk will address some of the most significant challenges facing anyone who wants to build a fashion company today, from defining a recognizable identity to expanding into new markets. A conversation about the future of brand-building and how to navigate the difficulties of the contemporary industry, build a project from scratch, and keep aiming high even when the odds seem stacked against you.
