The new edition of
Pitti Immagine Uomo kicked off this week under the scorching sun of
Florence, as the city began to empty out for the summer holidays. Emerging, independent, Italian, and international brands gathered in one place to unveil the
latest in men's fashion, but there was much more:
Brunello Cucinelli made headlines by publicly commenting on the issue of «
nonsensical prices» reached by luxury clothing,
HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE, the guest of honor, lit up Villa Medicea La Petraia at sunset with its evocative colors, and
Antonio Marras revealed his new atelier, relocated from Alghero to downtown Florence. In short, Pitti Immagine returned to celebrating what it has always been loved for: not just the street style peacocks, but also
fashion and the people who create it, a sense of community and sharing that brings
authenticity back into the spotlight. As always, nss was present to document everything happening along the Arno, but this year it wanted to show its love for the city with three different nss edicola activations, from
Ditta Artigianale for Edicola Iconica to the launch of the
Bacioni a Firenze line at
The Hoxton Hotel and
LuisaViaRoma.
