The new eyewear capsule by Heron Preston x Gentle Monster

The "level" of Heron Preston becomes the protagonist of three models of glasses

The new eyewear capsule by Heron Preston x Gentle Monster The level of Heron Preston becomes the protagonist of three models of glasses

Gentle Monster and Heron Preston are two brands that share a common aesthetic, the bold one of a workwear that is not afraid to welcome more subtle and intellectual elements, inspired by the world of art and culture. For their first collaboration, a limited edition eyewear capsule, the two brands wanted to do precisely this: a work of juxtaposition and dialogue, which has at its center the level with its air bubble that indicates the rightness of the surfaces and that the brand had already incorporated with great success in its footwear collections. Heron Preston, founder and creative director of the brand said:

«Given the success and excitement around that idea we challenged ourselves to think of other ways the level could be applied across different product categories. The shape and construction of sunglasses is the perfect platform for this idea. […] I decided to collaborate with GM because they always have supported big ideas and ambitious thinking. They understand how to connect through culture & arts in the most authentic ways».

The result is three new models of sunglasses, all in acetate and equipped with the detail of the level on the temple. The shape of the lenses is rectangular but with frames with exaggerated proportions that evoke the workwear aesthetics and minimal colorways, which bear the branding of Heron Preston on one of the orange rods and the more discreet one of Gentle Monster on the other rod, under the air bubble. The packaging instead evokes the aesthetics of construction tools with a yellow box that contains a soft pouch to carry the glasses.

The Heron Preston x Gentle Monster collaboration will be available from June 29th on the Heron Preston and Gentle Monster websites, in their flagships and at selected retailers.
