Dolce & Gabbana has been at the center of controversy during the Milan Fashion Week Menswear Miley Cyrus against brand politics and the model who protested during the fashion show

It was a very difficult Fashion Week for Dolce & Gabbana. In fact, the Italian house has attracted media attention not so much for its dresses for the SS18 collection, as well as for some facts that overwhelmed the brand under a wave of controversy

For some days Dolce & Gabbana has been in the middle of some discussions due to two events that have spared everyone.

First, at the end of the RUNWAY, the model Raury appshirt offrt-off showing all the writings on his body saying "PROTEST D&G", "GIVE ME FREEDOM" and "I AM NOT YOUR SCAPEGOAT". His appearance was immediately eliminated from official videos, so the guy's act was not immediately seen by the media.

But it does not end there. Shortly after the end of the show, pop star Miley Cyrus publicly complimented with her brother Braison for his debut as a model during the Fashion Week for the Dolce & Gabbana show. With a post on Instagram, the singer celebrated the brother's success but did not stop there: after the congratulations she added a reflection on the Italian Maison, reminding everyone that she disagrees with the brand policies.

PS D&G, I STRONGLY disagree with your politics.... but I do support your company's effort to celebrate young artists & give them the platform to shine their light for all to see!

Obviously, Stefano Gabbana did not remain silent. The fashion designer responded to Miley Cyrus with some vitriolic comments – "Ignorant !!!" and "For your stupid comment no more work with him ❤❤" – and writing on his Instagram profile an outspoken message to the singer:

We are Italian and we don't care about politics and mostly neither about the American one! We make dresses and if you think about doing politics with a post it's simply ignorant. We don't need your posts or comments so next time please ignore us!!

But what are the reasons for such reactions? What are these "your politics" which Miley Cyrus refers to? Hard to say. Recently, Dolce & Gabbana has often been

Hard to say. Recently, Dolce & Gabbana has often been the center of controversy because of some of its controversial decisions, such as the support given to Melania Trump – which triggered protests, to which the brand responded with the # BoycottDolce&Gabbana ironic t-shirt – or the scandal of the "slave sandals" appeared on the website or the opposition of the two fashion designers to gay marriages and IVF.

As regards Raury, in a recent interview with GQ he explained the reasons behind his gesture:

“I felt like Dolce & Gabbana was literally trying to use the youth to wash their hands of any sort of heat from anyone who wants to protest against them […] The 'Boycott Dolce & Gabbana' T-shirt they created completely makes a mockery of what 'boycotting' is. Boycotting is the people’s voice. A protest is the people’s voice. It has power. It changes things”
