African style

January 14th it starts the 31st edition of the Africa Cup of Nations. The competition will be played exclusively in Gabon and for the occasion two new stadiums have been built, the Stade d’Oyem and the Stade de Port-Gentil. The only debuting team is Guinea-Bissau and the most feared team are undoubtedly Ivory Coast and Ghana (last edition finalists). But results tell us not to underestimate teams like Egypt, Congo and Gabon itself, which will count on the support of its home fans. Gabon 2012

 

This yellow kit was designed by Puma in London in 2011 and it features a Panther, which is Gabon players’ nickname in order to celebrate the symbolic animal of the country.

 

Cameroon 2014 home

 

The kit design was inspired by cave paintings found in Cameroon itself, and the Puma badge on the chest leaves space for the lion symbol. 

 

Ghana 2006 home

2006 was the year of Ghana’s first participation to a World Cup and this jersey features a star to represent this very event.

 

Burkina Faso 2013

This jersey, produced by Puma, will be remembered as one of the most important in Burkina Faso’s football history, as it marks the best result of this country: 2013’s second place.

 

Ivory Coast 2015
