Concealed within the midsole was a Nike Air unit, a cushioning system that decade after decade has evolved, favoring the comfort of both lifestyle and performance models. Among the latest creations from the Beaverton brand is the Nike Air Max Dn, a shoe that marks a new generation in the footwear cushioning revolution that began decades ago, a reimagined icon. First appearing with the Nike Air Max Dn, Dynamic Air materializes into a new Nike Air unit with dual-chamber and four-tube construction, designed for unreal comfort, smooth stride, and maximum bounce. The dual-pressure air unit is composed of two pressurized chambers, each with two tubes. The two chambers are specifically regulated with higher pressure in the two rear tubes (15 psi) and lower pressure in the two front tubes (5 psi). Reggie Hunter, Nike Lifestyle Footwear Product Director, stated, «The independent chamber structure allows the Air unit to respond to the body's load with every step. The sensation felt is that of a smooth movement from heel to toe, as the Air unit interacts in real-time with the foot following your movements. Thanks to Air Max Dn, we've been able to unlock this sensation for the first time». When in motion, air flows freely between the tubes of each chamber. This configuration allows the air to respond to pressure during movement, offering a sensation of fluidity with every step. The technology and features debuting with the Nike Air Max Dn give rise to an all-new model that simultaneously captures the fit and aesthetics of a cult silhouette.
