Inter x Moncler: interview with Daniel Arsham

The connection between football, design and art for the launch of the Inter x Moncler by Arsham jacket

Inter x Moncler: interview with Daniel Arsham The connection between football, design and art for the launch of the Inter x Moncler by Arsham jacket

A few hours after the match against Roma, which was then won at the San Siro, FC Inter presented a new chapter in the collaboration between the club and Moncler, adding the work of an artist of the caliber of Daniel Arsham to the link between football, design, and art. The New York-based artist designed a jacket that the players wore before the match, featuring the most famous graphic elements of the two brands: Inter's snake and Moncler's M, intertwined with Daniel Arsham's logo. To find out more about the project, nss sports asked Arsham directly how the collaboration came about and how difficult it was to combine the styles of the two brands.

Explaining how the idea to collaborate with Inter and Moncler came about, Arsham told nss: 'Over the past decade I’ve been traveling to Milan to work with friends in design, architecture, art and fashion. Many of them are Inter fans and were my introduction to the club and naturally turned me into a fan for many years. The aim was to unite the identities and histories of Moncler and the Nerazzurri and make the creative paths of the two brands recognisable in a project that represents the first collaboration between Arsham Studio and the football club. "I fused Moncler’s signature design elements and Inter’s legendary serpent alongside my own initials to create something wearable that celebrates these connections."

Analysing the phenomenon, Daniel Arsham told nss sports what inspired him to create this collection, "Moncler and Inter have two distinct legacies and what’s interesting to me about them is that they have such dedicated communities and devoted fans, much like the community I’ve built around my work, it was the draw of that for me'.

The collection is available on moncler.com and Moncler’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II boutique from October 28th, 2023.
