In a football landscape where federations impose strict rules on colours, design and shirt sponsors, in the Welsh fifth division (Gwent County League First Division) there does not seem to be such a problem. Albion Rovers FC have just unveiled a jersey that would be an understatement to describe as bizarre. The Newport, South Wales-based club has dedicated an entire kit to the Subway fast-food restaurant franchise, complete with a logo on the chest and a pattern covering the entire jersey.

The logo of the US franchise is inserted into the jersey in the centre of the chest, while the two yellow arrows and see create a pattern that fills the entire jersey. On the back of the neck is also the club's name, written in the style of Subway. The rules of the major leagues would not allow jerseys of this type to be used, a problem that the Welsh fifth division does not seem to have. In the meantime, the team's players have taken photos showing the jersey, obviously in one of franchise restaurant.
