KidSuper designed English third division team jersey

Colm Dillane has never hidden his passion for football, and this is the proof

KidSuper designed English third division team jersey Colm Dillane has never hidden his passion for football, and this is the proof

Barnsley are a small Yorkshire team playing in EFL League One, but have a long history in the lower leagues of England, with only one appearance in the Premier League in the 1997/98season. Over the years, however, the team has stood out for its aesthetic and its various iconic kits, most notably the "Shaw Carpets" jersey from the 1989/1990 season, which served as the inspiration for the PUMA kits the Tykes will wear next season. The new jerseys were designed by a special guest, designer and KidSuper founder Colm Dillane. Dillane has never made a secret of his great passion for football, even playing in the 7-a-side tournament TST, and his collections have always been inspired by the sporting aesthetic. And just days after the catwalk show during KidSuper's SS24 Paris Fashion Week, Barnsley unveiled the three jerseys for next season, which will also feature the American brand's sponsorship on the right sleeve during the Emirates FA Cup 2023/24.

It's a partnership that underlines a shared commitment to innovation, creativity and pushing boundaries that began last year when KidSuper's logo first appeared on the playing shorts. It is unclear how it came to be that one of today's best designers is working with a team that is certainly not known to everyone. The main reason might have to do with new owner Neerav Parekh and Pacific Media Group, which is known for bringing Moneyball to the football world. A connection between the US and England that is also reflected on Barnsley's home shirt, where the English club's eagle is transformed into a symbol very similar to that of the States. Who knows whether Colm Dillane will continue to pursue his passion for football after such a partnership, uniting football and football, fashion and sport.
