Napoli wanted to make shirts with the faces of their players The Lega Serie A rejected the idea as one cannot play with 11 different jerseys

When talking about Napoli, beyond the incredible exploits of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor James Osimhen who continue to set Serie A and European pitches ablaze, the first thought can only be the jerseys. According to Repubblica, the latest crazy idea from the club would be to make jerseys with the faces of the players. In line with what was done for the jerseys dedicated to Maradona, where the face of the unforgettable Argentine champion was stylised, the president's proposal was to include the faces of current players. It is not known whether or not the jerseys would have maintained the same design as last year's, which in turn took inspiration from a drawing by a Neapolitan artist. An idea that was, however, immediately rejected by the Lega Serie A.

Serie A regulations in fact stipulate that all team jerseys, with the exception of the goalkeeper's jersey, must necessarily be the same. This is why jerseys in which a different face is depicted on each one become unusable, as they do not comply with the rules. A rejected idea that, however, will not stop the production machine of De Lauretiis' team, which announced at the beginning of the season that Napoli will produce 12 jerseys. A truly high number, which not even Paris Saint Germain, with both Jordan and Nike behind the production, has ever reached, always stopping at four. The Neapolitan team despite the rejected design will continue to surprise us on and off the pitch, waiting for the next release.
