Catania's new Etna-inspired jersey by Erreà A dedication to the volcano that dominates the city from above

The relationship between the city of Catania and its volcano, Etna, is something sacred. An indissoluble bond, 'a Muntagna' as it is called in dialect, is in fact considered a mother figure, who takes care of the island's inhabitants, not something to be feared despite the many frequent eruptions. Etna is in fact the highest active volcano on the Eurasian plate, and although over time it has posed a threat above all to the inhabitants on its slopes, for every Catanese it is a point of reference, a figure that dominates the city from above, outlining its panorama and landscape, and for millennia marking the life of the entire population of Etna. All these motivations prompted Erreà, sponsor of the new Catania SSD of newly appointed president Ross Pelligra, to dedicate the Etnean club's third jersey to the famous volcano.

The game uniform warms ambition and expresses competitive ardour through the colours and trajectories of the red flow, ideally reproduced on the fabric as it flows over the stone that characterises the volcanic landscape. Visually it is presented with anthracite, black and red veins. The colours reproduced obviously recall those of the volcanic stone and lava, symbols of strength and life. These have always shaped the character of the people living around Etna. The colours chosen complete the club's chromatic range with the characteristic blue in the collar and cuffs.
