Roma has changed the logo of its third jersey ASR's choice of translucent crest did not please UEFA regulations

Roma's third jersey presented for the Europa League home opener against HJK Helsinki will not be able to be used in the Giallorossi's upcoming competitions because of the translucent crest that changes shape depending on the angle from which it is viewed. In fact, as widely anticipated, the crest changes from the historic ASR logo to the official one with the Capitoline she-wolf through a visual effect that would not fall within the perimeter defined by UEFA's Equipment Regulations. In fact, according to Article 8.04, "No material used in the construction of playing attire may be reflective or change its color or appearance under any external influence (pressure, light, water, etc.). This includes material used for numbers, player names, sponsors, or charity logos."

To avoid having to make running changes to the jersey that in fact New Balance anticipated by making a version for the Giallorossi that features a traditional crest. Instead, the version with the shape-changing crest will be offered for sale as a Replica version, a way to make the jersey special for fans but without running into sanctions from UEFA, as has happened to other teams in Europe that have had to change the graphics of theirs as happened, for example, in the Champions League to Inter and Ajax.
