The best jerseys of 2022 MLS As always signed all by adidas, this year the jerseys dare more than usual especially on the away kits

Saturday finally marks the start of MLS, the North American soccer league that every year evolves and enlarges its brand in an attempt to undermine the NFL, NBA and MLB markets. There won't be Lorenzo Insigne yet, who will arrive in Toronto in the summer, but there are already many jerseys ready to conquer the hearts of new fans and become something more than just a garment to wear on the field. The kits for the 28 teams are, as always, all made by adidas, sole technical sponsor since way back in 2004 on the model of the other U.S. professional leagues, which has tried to differentiate by playing with templates and patterns. Here are our seven favorites.

Los Angeles FC

The Los Angeles FC home jersey has been named 5 Years Strong and is dedicated to the five years it took the team to put down roots in the city of Los Angeles, creating a strong relationship with its community and the individuals who helped create it. The black jersey with gold borders and logos, offers an intricate geometric pattern vaguely deco.

LA Galaxy

The other half of Los Angeles, the Galaxy made famous by the militancy of David Beckham and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, returns to the classic white with the stars on the edge of the collar and sleeves. The stars are one of the symbols of the Los Angeles team, which can also boast the five that symbolize the championships won so far.

CF Montreal

The Away jersey designed by adidas for Montreal FC echoes the one made last season for Arsenal with the veins, in that case red that referred to the historic marble halls of the Highbury. Here the veins running through the jersey are blue, the social color of the Canadian team.

New York City FC

While the first New York City FC jersey will be the same used last season, the second one introduces for the first time the color orange. A color that has always been close to the city of New York given its Dutch origin, just think of the uniforms of the New York Knicks, in this version crossed by a dark blue thunderbolt that divides the shirt in half.

Orlando City SC

We continue with the Away kits and we move to Florida, specifically to Orlando where the local team has chosen a white jersey with a chromatic ray that goes from purple to orange and yellow until it disappears into the white of the collar. It is no coincidence that the kit has been renamed The Sunshine Kit, a reference to the endless summer in the state of Orlando.

Portland Timbers

Yet another Away jersey, this time from Portland Timbers who pays homage to the Oregon city's nickname, The Rose City, with a jersey that is precisely printed with rose petals. Referred to as the "Heritage Jersey," it combines several different types of pink, from light to crimson, to highlight all the details, including the Timbers crest on the chest.

Seattle Sounders FC

We conclude with yet another second jersey, which in recent seasons has become a bit like the third in Europe, a field of experimentation, of the Seattle Sounders. The club from the Emerald City has decided to create a geometric pattern of blue squares on a green background, emerald in fact, which echoes the choreography created by the home fans in the stands.
