Barcelona have officially unveiled their new away jersey from Nike. The new kit adopts purple as the main colour and, for the first time, does so in an almost pastel shade, as in the 2016/17 season but in a much darker colourway. But the details capable of catching all the attention are definitely the iridescent logos. Barcelona has veered towards a design that promotes female empowerment, opting for purple - a fusion of blue and red, which commonly represents the fight for gender equality. To reinforce the club's commitment to women's sport, Barça adapted the originally masculine phrase from the club's anthem "Tots units fem força" (United we are strong). The unusual colourway was chosen because this year marks the 50th anniversary of the first game played by the women's team on 25 December 1970 at Camp Nou. To celebrate this milestone, some of those pioneers are featured in the new kit's launch campaign alongside Barça Women's players.

The kit is completed by shorts, also in purple and with a blue and garnet stripe on the sides, and socks in the same colour, where the words CULERS, the nickname of the club's fans, stand out. The shirt, like all others produced by Nike, is made from 100% recycled polyester. This is not the first time that Nike has used iridescent logos, as the third Paris Saint Germain jersey of the 2016/2017 season also featured a very similar design.

The shirt is already available on the Nike website.
