Olympique Lyon also has a FIFA21 only use kit Fans have voted it directly through Twitter

Update: Despite the fact that two weeks have passed since the contest was announced to vote on Olympique Lyon's fourth kit (entirely digital) a winning model has not yet been found. The French club had explained that it would collect the votes through comments from Instagram and Twitter, but there has not yet been any official communication, nor any new jersey been added to FIFA 21.

Through a survey on its social media profiles, the French club Olympique Lyon presented a contest to choose the club's fourth adidas kit, entirely virtual and usable only on the fifa 21 video game. The uniform was chosen by the fans with a contest (expiring at midnight on Wednesday 3) in which you could choose between four different types of jersey, which the eSports team of the club French will use in the online matches that will be played in the coming months.Produced in collaboration with EA Sports and adidas, the new kit can also be chosen by ordinary players who will play with Lyon in the popular game of EA Sports.

Juninho Pernambucano, Cris, Rafael, Claudio Cacapa and Fred, as well as the modern Paquetà and Thiago Mendes. Lyon is a team with a great relationship with Brazilian players, and in fact, the reason for the new kit is precisely the club's bond with Brazil. Each of the four jerseys contains a reference to Brazilian players and territories, but with the basic colors that re-propose some of the historical models used by Olympique Lyon in recent years. The optionable uniforms were the number 1, called 'Union', inspired by a model used in the nineties (gold background with a blue and red stripe in the center: in this case, the silhouette of Brazil was added), the number 2, 'Rio', dedicated to the Carnival of Rio De Janeiro (blue base, with a patterned template in specks between black and red) , number 3, 'Pernambuco', like the 'Home' model of the '89-90 season (with the fusion between the diamonds of the Brazilian flag and the lion, symbol of the French club); finally, the number 4, 'Etendard', completely blue like many models (also seen in recent years) of Lyon, in which the reference is to the Brazilian flag.

Each model proposed was designed by two graphic designers OL fans - Naja Studio for the first and fourth, Pierre Notton for the second and third -, and each fan, in both Twitter and Instagram comments, was able to vote by writing the number of the favorite jersey.

That the relationship between FIFA and fashion had reached a later stage, it was already understood in 2020. Many clubs have started to design models of uniforms that can only be used for video games: in Italy - we talked about it exclusively here - AS Roma believed a lot in this type of operations by presenting a jersey (in collaboration with Brain Dead) initially available only on eFootball PES 2021. But in the past, other currencies have also played an exclusively digital role. Juventus, Real Madrid, plus all the recent FIFA initiatives that have also involved VOLTA Football have created an aesthetic channel that, although with products that can also be used in reality, can also survive exclusively in the virtual world. For now, Lyon have specified that the fourth shirt will only be usable on FIFA 21, but who knows that fans do not like to wear it on the sofa at home as well.
