After appearing in Asif Kapadia's latest movie, released in Italian cinemas last September, Diego Armando Maradona is the protagonist of the new docu-series that is ready to land on Netflix and which is titled 'Maradona in Mexico', about the penultimate experience as manager of the Argentine star. Before signing for Gimnasia La Plata, in fact, Maradona spent two seasons on the bench of the Dorados, the club of the Mexican second division founded in 2003 in Culiacan, the capital of the Sinaloa region better known to the news about narcos traffic and the famous drug cartel more than the Pep Guardiola arrive in 2006.

The series is divided into seven single episodes that reflect the ups and downs lived by the Mexican team during the Maradona management, which took over in September 2018 when the Dorados were in the bottom of the standings, then arriving twice in the Liga MX promotion final, the sporting events concerning Mexican sporting culture (the rivalry with the Club Leon for example) but also tells the human experience and the impact of the South American coach arrived in Mexico, an absolutely unique and less-known football scenario in Europe, 'to save the Dorados and perhaps he too'.

 

'Maradona in Messico' will be available on Netflix from 13 November.
