PUMA is the new technical supplier of Marocco National team The German brand became tthe Atlas Lions' sponsor again, after eight years

Until a few years ago was the official supplier of the great Central African National teams such as Cameroon, Ghana and Senegal, now it seems that PUMA is focusing strongly on the Maghreb ones. Having recently signed a partnership with Egypt last January, the German brand has become the new technical sponsor of Morocco, taking over from adidas with which the Lions of the Atlas have been linked for seven years. Maybe you remember that the Moroccan selection and adidas lived a critical period on the eve of the 2018 World Cup, when the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation Faouzi Lekjaa had also threatened to broke the contract a few days before the start of the tournament (we talked about it here).

Morocco is undoubtedly one of the most interesting realities of African football: despite the unexpected elimination during the 2019 African Cup of Nations, by penalties against Benin, there are some top-level players in the Moroccan squad, many of whom were born and grew up playing football in Europe (think about Hakim Ziyech, Achraf Hakimi and Mehdi Benatia) and the local Federation in recent years has repeatedly worked for important bids, such as the one submitted for the 2026 World Cup (later assigned to USA, Canada and Mexico ) and that, already official, for the 2030 World Cup.

The new kits, officially presented in the late afternoon of Wednesday 9 October on the occasion of the opening of the new Casablanca store, are not really original: red with green details the Home one, green with red details the Away one. Friday 11 and Tuesday 15 October Morocco will play two friendly matches against Libya and Gabon which will be the first opportunities to see the jersey worn on the football ground. PUMA has already dressed Morocco from 1998 to 2002 and from 2007 to 2011.
