Oxford United's new logo Celebrating 125 of history in the English football, the club decided to change the crest of the team

It's time to renew the brand also for Oxford: after the absolutely bad choice made by Leeds United and after the recent project of Portsmouth, the English third-tier club announced the new logo, designed to celebrate 125 years of history, and followed by the hashtag #ProudHistoryBrightFuture.

The new crest once features the ox's head, the club's symbol, which will be inserted into a blue-edged badge. The vertical stripes on the inside background represent a reference to the orange and blue Headington United shirt, that is the name that was initially given to the team back in 1893, but also to the glorious squads of the '80s. Above, the name of the city of Oxford is clear to recall the connection with the famous university, which has always been a great source of pride for the local community. The logo will make its debut on the jerseys for the last home game of the season against Rochdale, before becoming definitive next season.

The Yellows, with seven games from the end of the league, must try to defend the five points-advantage that keep them away from the relegation zone, in League One. In addition to the huge 0-7 suffered against Wigan, you may have heard about Oxford United firstly for an interest in Patrick Kluivert as a manager, then for the bad performance made by the midfielder Alex Mowatt, who slapped an opponent after failing a penalty in the match against Portsmouth.
