Nowadays, the average footballer, other than his professional career, takes a lot of care in his business, deciding to invest in the most varied activities. Many of them open luxurious restaurants, other decide to dedicate themselves to fashion and clothing, and the cool ones - like David Beckham and Andrea Pirlo - enjoys viticulture. And then there’s him, Lukas Podolski, that as always - and we love for that - distinguishes himself from the mass and decides to open a Kebab House in Cologne, a city where he spent six years of his career.

It’s called Mangal Kebab and it’s in the Chlodwigplatz district, where it opened last weekend. It’s not the first time Prinz Poldi invests in the city of Cologne, as the former Bayern and Arsenal already own a clothing store and an ice cream shop. He’s basically opening all the kind of shops that he’d visit in a city. Brilliant.

His stores seem to be as successful as he was on the pitch, as more than a thousand citizens attended the Mangal Kebab opening. "Ideas just come, I don't even really have a business plan right now" explained Podolski. "Opening a five-star restaurant isn't my style, I'm not the type that wears a suit. I sell ice cream, Kebabs, and clothing, have fun and everyone is happy”. And so are we.
