Like all creatives with powerful and different inspirations, Hedi Slimane also has his own repertoire of cultural references ranging from music to the art world including, of course, cinema.

To help his fans survive the quarantine, Celine's creative director has compiled a list of eleven classic films to stream for free on MUBI – the streaming platform dedicated to arthouse cinema that you can visit at this link. The selection of films will be free until May 31 and their availability may vary depending on the countries.

The films chosen by Hedi are, as expected, mostly French classics of the nouvelle vague such as The 400 Blows, Pierrot Le Fou, Le Cercle Rouge and great international films such as Antonioni's The Red Desert, Apocalypse Now by Coppola and Persona by Ingmar Bergman. But there are also little cult gems like experimental filmmaker Curtis Harrington's Night Tide and young talent Xavier Dolan's Laurence Anyways. A useful opportunity to try to delve into the mind and world of cultural references of the direct heir of Yves Saint Laurent as well as one of the most fascinating designers of recent years.
