The best jerseys of the NWSL As a tribute to the Big Apple and the sunsets of San Diego

Nike has chosen to focus on women's soccer, a very clear strategy for some years now aiming to further expand the base for a rapidly growing movement. This year, for the first time, the brand has undergone a total makeover of the NWSL, the primary women's soccer league in the United States, creating two new kits for each of the 14 teams competing in the 2024/25 season. A remarkable creative effort, underscored by the attention to detail in the individual team campaigns and the bespoke nature of each kit. Nike's initiative gives us insight into the future strategies of a brand that will increasingly focus on projects of this kind.

We have selected the five most beautiful jerseys in the NWSL made by Nike.

San Diego Wave FC

The San Diego Wave is a team that reflects the attention women's soccer receives in the United States. Consider that the Snapdragon Stadium where they play their matches has a capacity of 32,000 seats. The discerning eyes of the numerous potential spectators will be able to admire the new home kit named "Del Sol," inspired by the colors of the sunset and the ocean that bathes the beaches of San Diego.

Houston Dash

Anniversaries always provide an excellent opportunity to create unique uniforms. This is what the Houston Dash, a Texas-based club founded in November 2013, has done to celebrate its first decade of history. The home shirt features a pattern composed of a quasar, along with a cube logo also featuring the quasar, which, positioned slightly askew, resembles the Roman numeral X, a reference to the team's tenth year of existence.

Seattle Reign FC

There is no doubt that the most elegant kit created by Nike for the NWSL championship is that of the Seattle Reign FC, whose colors are white, platinum, and two different shades of blue. A simple, functional design, where the gold font and the incredible team logo manage to dominate the surrounding details.

Racing Louisville FC

Recently, adidas unveiled 29 new kits for MLS clubs, using checkerboard or diamond patterns for more than one design. The trend of introducing these patterns in American soccer shows no signs of slowing down, as evidenced by a glance at the new home jersey of Racing Louisville, called the "The Winner’s Circle Kit," inspired by the silk uniform motifs worn by jockeys in horse racing.

Gotham FC

Among the most meaningful patterns, special mention goes to the home jersey of Gotham FC. Just as the Hudson River runs through New York City, dividing it into two separate areas, the stripe running across the club's jersey also divides the front into two triangular parts.
