Calvin Klein's project to discover emerging music writers Titled Plugged In and in association with Wax Poetics magazine

Calvin Klein has collaborated with the music magazine Wax Poetics, born in 2001 as a magazine dedicated to contemporary jazz, funk, soul, Latin, hip-hop, reggae, blues, and R&B, to celebrate a new generation of journalists who have redefined the landscape contemporary music through an innovative and personal approach. Entitled Plugged In, the initiative sheds light on four emerging music writers who have been given the chance to share their stories, style and individual language with Calvin Klein audiences, in the wake of last years' acclaimed project, Self Published, in collaboration with Dazed to present the best emerging magazines from all over Europe. Selected from over 100 nominees, each of the journalists were offered educational resources, expert mentoring, and paid commissions to create a feature film on their favorite musical topic.

The selected talents come from all over the world and include Scottish music and creative journalist Maeve Hannigan, who explores Glasgow's emerging jazz scene, Vuyokazi Mtukela, South African poet and cultural critic, Violeta Arango, researcher, photographer, visual artist and writer based between London and the Canary Islands, the music writer Amelia Fearon reflecting on the post-punk scene in Manchester. On the partnership Brian DiGenti, Editor-in-Chief of Wax Poetics, said, "Since our relaunch, we have made a point of providing as much support as possible to the youngest writers and content creators. Calvin Klein has been an amazing partner in helping to to accomplish all of this. We have been overwhelmed by the quality and energy that the nominees and winners have brought and we can't wait to see what the future holds for them."
