Here's what went down at the Pantera Playroom x Street Fighter event DJ sets, arcade cabinets and pizza, for the film's theatrical release launch
On Wednesday, October 7, Pantera's Playroom in Milan hosted an evening dedicated to Street Fighter to mark the film's arrival in cinemas, scheduled for October 15. Opened last February, the venue is a lounge designed for enjoying pizza among arcade cabinets: for the occasion, the gaming stations were provided directly by Capcom and, between matches, the evening unfolded to the rhythm of DJ sets by Arca Radio, Boss Doms and Marvely, with Pantera's slices keeping the players company. The event is part of the film's launch campaign, which chose Milan and Pantera to introduce itself to audiences ahead of its theatrical release. Directed by Kitao Sakurai, produced by Legendary Pictures and Capcom and distributed by Paramount Pictures, Street Fighter is the cinematic adaptation of the iconic video game: set in 1993, it follows protagonists Ryu (Andrew Koji), Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) and Chun-Li (Callina Liang) in the World Warrior Tournament, the martial arts tournament that brings together the strongest fighters on the planet.
