For years, smart glasses remained confined to a product category aimed primarily at tech enthusiasts. With the new Meta Glasses, developed in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, Meta appears to be shifting perspective entirely: no longer a futuristic gadget to be worn occasionally, but an accessory to be woven into everyday life. This is the central message of the event held in London, where international press and creators gathered on the rooftop of The Hoxton in Shoreditch to get an up-close look at the new collection.

The first thing that stands out is the design. The Meta Glasses come in three different frames: the Adventurer, with a more classic and versatile look; the bolder Fury; and the Meta Glasses by Kylie collection, born from a collaboration with Kylie Jenner and inspired by her personal style. Rounding out the collection are seven colorways, various lens options — including prescription lenses — and more than twenty combinations that bring the glasses much closer to a fashion accessory than an electronic device.

Naturally, the heart of the product remains artificial intelligence. The new Meta Glasses are the first to integrate, from launch, the new version of Meta AI powered by Muse Spark, the model developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs. During the demonstrations, it was possible to see the new features in action: real-time translations, contextual responses based on what the wearer is looking at, reminders and calendar management, as well as the ability to take photos and record videos hands-free. Among the most interesting new additions is Dynamic Photo, a feature that automatically captures multiple images of the same scene and then suggests the best shot.

Beyond the technical specifications, however, what comes through most clearly is the direction Meta continues to pursue. At a time when much of the wearable market seems focused on health, fitness, and longevity, the company once again chooses to bet on lifestyle. The new Meta Glasses have no ambition to monitor heart rate or analyze sleep, but rather to help us observe, understand, and document the world around us more effectively. More than a wellness device, they are conceived as an interface between ourselves and the world, leveraging artificial intelligence to make the way we interact with reality feel more natural.
