Saelf presents "Sotto lo Stesso Cielo" For the brand's SS27 collection, founder Giulia Spitaleri draws inspiration from the colors of Mount Etna

Sotto lo stesso cielo, Saelf's SS27 collection, was born on August 10th on the slopes of Etna. An image suspended between the heat of the black earth, the dust, the bodies climbing toward the mountain, and the shooting stars of San Lorenzo. A physical and mental landscape that Giulia Spitaleri, founder and creative director of the brand, transforms into a form of tangible nostalgia.

Presented during Milan Fashion Week, Sotto lo stesso cielo came to life through two hours of artistic performance and an immersive installation that together built a kind of archive uniting fashion, art, and personal history. The collection's garments were vacuum-sealed and suspended in the air, or at other times hung on a wire. The vacuum seal is a time capsule, a poetic and practical way to crystallize an object. 

The Saelf SS27 palette moves through the colors of volcanic earth, such as lava black, dry earth brown, rust red, ivory, and twilight yellow. The silhouettes include clean cuts, low waists reminiscent of the tailored shapes of a distant era, and rolled sleeves and shoulders — a practical gesture that in the collection, appearing on mini dresses and tops, becomes a more refined detail. 

Giving physical form to Saelf's SS27 is the performance by Emanuele Algeri, who for two hours staged the awakening of a body that had long lain dormant. Through simple, repetitive, almost primitive gestures, the performer moved slowly, stubbornly, through exhaustion and sweat. Sotto lo stesso cielo draws inspiration from the idea that memory is not merely something to be preserved, but something to be physically traversed.
