In the Vincenzo Muccioli Garden, which has a very long, lathered and decadent table at its center, Antonio Marras presents his Spring Summer 2027 collection. The inspiration, as usual, comes from his Sardinia, and is the marriage between Ippolita and Antiogu, in Alghero during the night of Saint John's Day. A long, very long Mediterranean festival, so much so that it is no longer clear when it will end and if it will end. The night becomes dawn, and the guests, with their layered and precious looks, no longer know if they are awake or if they are dreaming.
The collection thrives on encounters between materials, contrasts and layering: silk, chiffon, satin, poplin, lace and organza re-emerge as if from a period outfit to be layered on deconstructed parkas, thick and rough denim, fresh wool, with pictorial prints and inlays, stripes and paintings, revisited camouflage and pictorial flowers. The palette is made of sand, powder blue, powdery blue, ecru and mud green, which are broken by golden reflections and sculptural bags, both in the shoes and in the accessories. There is no lack of absolute black. The man is relaxed and decadent, for the woman there is no shortage of corsets, but also important skirts and dresses full of bows and flounces. In the end, the newlyweds emerge in the group, and the fashion show becomes a performance that moves around the laden table and that involves the public.
Speaking of golden reflections, Spring Summer 2027 marks the encounter between the Sardinian designer and Giovanni Raspini, who interprets the Marras world, integrating the story with unique pieces, talismans. Also thanks to his contribution, Antonio Marras brings to the catwalk an idea of an Italian, Mediterranean and Sardinian festival and for this reason probably highly appreciated abroad, which does not renounce his identity and which integrates a somewhat melancholic part, of that melancholy typical of dawn, of the fading of an open, widespread party for everyone.
