The best street style looks from Tokyo Fashion Week SS27 Are you ready for the start of fashion month?
The fashion month has officially kicked off again and, as tradition dictates, it is Tokyo that gets ahead of the long journey that will take fashion first to New York and then to the European capitals. From August 31 to September 5, Tokyo Fashion Week SS27 reignited the season with a street style that, at least in terms of color, seems to look more toward autumn than toward next summer. On the streets of the Japanese capital, dark, earthy tones reign supreme — from black to brown, through khaki, olive green and burgundy accents — often built through layering, oversized silhouettes and deliberately unbalanced proportions. Yet the sobriety of the palette does not mean minimalism: Tokyo continues to blend denim, prints and Y2K references, proving once again just how difficult its street style is to pin down to a single aesthetic.
