In the deep blue of the glaciers with the FW26 collection by TRC Contemporary design, high-performance technical materials, and a constant commitment to sustainability
TRC the contemporary workwear brand, founded by Alberto Candiani (from the historic Candiani denim family), which blends Italian textile heritage with circular innovation, functional design, has presented its latest FW26 collection. Inspired by the rich and changing autumnal and winter palettes, the line masterfully fuses artistic expression, cutting-edge textile technology with an ever-present focus on sustainability. The collection's lookbook unfolds through fabrics and designs that not only celebrate the beauty of the colors of the winter and autumn seasons, but place sustainability first, proving that fashion can be both elegant and planet-friendly.
From autumn to winter
The collection is divided into two parts: an autumnal one, with warmer and more reassuring colors; and one inspired by winter. The first stands out particularly for the use of materials that envelop the wearer with an emphasis on comfort and the tactile aspect of the garments. The protagonist is heavy regenerative cotton in broken twill together with robust selvedge denim. On this base are layered vibrant oranges, earthy browns and indigo, all obtained with natural dyes.
When the collection shifts toward the winter part, it adopts a more refined and functional aesthetic. Shades of aged stone gray with faded effects dominate, together with petrol blue, which is TRC's signature color. The final effect is understated yet elegant, enhanced by fabric innovation, designed to guarantee superior performance while capturing the sharp and unyielding clarity of winter skies and snowy landscapes.
The two capsules: Glacier and Freestyle
At the heart of the FW26 offering is the Glacier capsule, a dedicated line that embodies TRC's philosophy of ethical and circular fashion. This part of the collection features Ian Matteoli, a high-level Italian athlete preparing for the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics, as ambassador. A partnership that aims to highlight not only the high technical performance of the various products but also an authentic fusion of sporting excellence, environmental defense and contemporary design principles.
Inspired by the urgent realities of global warming and the retreat of glaciers, the Glacier line addresses a specific environmental challenge: the pollution caused by traditional protective coverings used on glaciers. These materials often release microplastics that end up worsening the pollution problem. To counter this issue, TRC has developed geotextile solutions made with LENZING™ cellulosic fibers, fully compostable and free of toxic residues.
End-of-life management is handled by Glacier Threads, an Italian startup specialized in the recovery and reuse of these materials. Once collected, the fibers are processed and respun by Marchi & Fildi, then woven into high-end selvedge denim by Candiani. This process gives rise to a fabric that represents the best of Italian manufacturing, with the added advantage of embodying a closed-loop system that reduces waste and promotes resource renewal.
Complementing the focus on Glacier, TRC has also included in the FW26 collection the Freestyle capsule, inspired by the world of snowboarding. This selection reinterprets sportswear silhouettes, adapting them to versatile everyday use. The designs center on fluidity of movement, durability and comfort, making them ideal both for city streets and outdoor adventures.
