Stone Island and New Balance return with a new collaboration that brings together two different approaches to innovation. The capsule, featuring a new version of the Furon V8 football boot and a complete football kit, reinterprets sports aesthetics through the lens of technical research and functional design, two core values shared by both brands.
The Furon V8 is designed to deliver speed and precision. Crafted in a monochromatic palette that highlights its aerodynamic structure, it combines a Hypoknit upper with a matte polyurethane film and an integrated ripstop texture. The raised details and 3D printed logos reference Stone Island’s design language, as does the reflective double stripe running along the low collar and heel tab.
The off-center lacing ensures greater stability and a cleaner striking surface, while the new Speed Ctrl stud configuration is engineered to maintain control even during sudden stops and quick directional changes. The two-tone sole, featuring a matte finish on the forefoot and electroplated chrome on the heel, recalls Stone Island’s ongoing experimentation with materials and metallic treatments.
The kit, consisting of jersey, shorts, and socks, follows the same design philosophy. The jersey, made from recycled polyester jacquard, features engineered mesh zones and heat-sealed seams, while reflective logos and inserts create visual continuity with the boot. Tone-on-tone details, ripstop textures, and the open-mesh double stripes on the socks complete a cohesive aesthetic that balances performance and research.
