Church's new SS25 campaign
Starring Theo James
April 11th, 2025
Church’s unveils its SS25 campaign titled Stage Craft, a visual and narrative project that intertwines fashion, theatre, and tradition, starring English actor Theo James. Set on a theatrical stage, the campaign presents a visual monologue on British elegance, captured through the lens of photographer Phil Poynter under the creative direction of David James. Theo James, a familiar face in international cinema thanks to productions such as The White Lotus, The Gentlemen, and The Monkey, steps into various characters inspired by Church’s iconic models, lending his magnetic presence to a story where style becomes gesture, footwear a mask, and craftsmanship a form of theatrical expression. Each model comes to life on stage through nuances of character, poise, and style, embodying the essence of the Church’s man: cultured, sophisticated, contemporary.
The SS25 collection unfolds around three distinct yet complementary universes, each embodying the craftsmanship excellence that has always defined the maison. Classic models such as the Chetwynd Contour brogue and the Maesteg loafer are revealed in new interpretations, where fine materials and innovative techniques harmoniously come together. The Milton loafer, for example, rediscovers the essential lines of the Church’s archive, reinterpreting them in a lighter and more modern key, thanks to selected leathers and soft finishes. The Maesteg, with its refined silhouette and unlined construction, evokes timeless regal elegance, while the Chetwynd Contour experiments with new high-frequency welding technology, giving a sculpted and futuristic look to a classic of the men's wardrobe.

Another theme of the collection draws inspiration from British nature and geography. Inspired by the rugged coasts of the United Kingdom, the Coastland group introduces models such as the Portsmouth, a reinterpreted penny loafer with a contemporary twist, blending a flexible sporty sole with clean lines and soft materials, evoking a laid-back yet sophisticated style. The season closes with a summer offering that combines functionality and aesthetic research. The new sandals, in various styles, feature woven leather and reinterpreted classic designs, such as the Nevada leather fisherman. The Road sneakers, made from soft nappa leather with visible stitching, are inspired by the road to Wimbledon, evoking sportiness and English tradition. For women, the Kelsey sandal stands out for its balance between craftsmanship and bold details, thanks to metal studs and a woven design, available in both open and strapped versions.
