Jared Leto will be Karl Lagerfeld in a new film

After Paolo Gucci, a certainly intense and very unloved performance, Jared Leto will return to the role of a famous designer in a film that will also be produced by him and will be about the life of Karl Lagerfeld. The project will be a true collaboration with the Karl Lagerfeld brand whose CEO Pier Paolo Righi and whose vice-president of communications, Caroline Lebar, will serve as executive producers along with Lagerfeld's former assistant and bodyguard, Sébastien Jondeau. The film, which is in the very early stages of pre-production, does not even have a director at the moment although Righi has already defined that of the producers «an equally trustful and inspiring creative relationship ».

Lagerfeld and Jared Leto knew each other personally, so much so that in a past conversation the German designer in charge of Chanel and Fendi reportedly said he would be happy if it were Leto himself who would play the role in a hypothetical future film. The film is expected to tell the designer's story through his most important personal relationships, and thus the appearance of other designer-stars such as Yves Saint Laurent, Thierry Mugler, and Hedi Slimane might not be ruled out.
