Haider Ackermann leaves Berluti

Will his place in the historic French fashion house be occupied by Kris Van Assche?

After only three seasons, the Colombian designer Haider Ackermann leaves the creative direction of Berluti by surprise.

“Haider has been at the core of the evolution of Berluti’s collections and image these past few seasons. I want to thank him for everything he has accomplished since his arrival. His feel for materials, colors, and his wonderful shows will always be linked to the history of the house”, commented Antoine Arnault, chief executive officer  of the brand, giving the news.

In response, the Colombian stylist thanked the entire team and declared that he was immensely proud to have been able to put his creativity at the service of the fashion house.

All very civil, but one question remains: is not the revolution in the LVMH home yet?

The departure of Ackermann, in fact, is only the last of many changes at the top of the men's fashion companies controlled by the luxury group: at the beginning of the year Hedi Slimane was chosen as the new creative director of Céline (where he will also launch a men's line); Virgil Abloh soon replaced Kim Jones with Louis Vuitton; while Jones found work by Dior Homme.

Berluti announced that he will soon reveal the name of the new creative director. Among the most accredited candidates are Kris Van Assche, just separated by Dior Homme, and Stefano Pilati, former Ermenegildo Zegna and former YSL.

And Ackermann what will happen? He will focus on his eponymous brand and, one day, when Karl Lagerfeld decides to leave Chanel, he could become the new designer of Madame Coco's maison. This is what Kaiser Karl himself said and we hope it.
