The MET Gala 2018 presents 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination' The theme of the exhibithion will be the dialogue between fashion and religion

Some people think that fashion is a true religion, a guiding spirit that accompanies its faithful and influences them in everyday life. Is it passion or a paradox?

At the same time, however, these are two worlds that affect today's society and for this reason the next theme of the show at the Costume Institute will be the dialogue between fashion and faith. The much-anticipated MET Gala 2018 will host the Heavenly Bodies exhibition: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, which will be set up in three suggestive locations: the Anna Wintour Costume Center, the medevial gallery at the MET location of Fifth Avenue, and the MET Cloisters in Manhattan.

These two realities will meet and merge with each other to create something that can amaze and satisfy everyone, as has happened great designers' collections that, somehow, have been influenced by the charm of the sacred and profane - Donatella Versace, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga.

The exhibition will be curated by Andrew Bolton in co-operation with the MET Middle East Department and MET Cloisters.

Waiting for MET Gala 2018.
