Supreme and Cindy Sherman set for Artist Series Skate Decks Available from November 9th

After the Japanese manga artist Katsuhiro Otomo and his character Akira, Supreme chooses one of the most influential women in the world of contemporary art to make special its skateboards.

In fact, it’s up to Cindy Sherman to collaborate with the New York brand. The acclaimed American photographer, famous for her conceptual self-portraits that often eradicate some preconceptions about the woman’s figure using the stereotypes of female iconography in pop culture, gives Supreme two of her works.

They are Untitled # 181 and Untitled # 175 drawn from her Grotesque Series, images that put together objects and thrown, chewed or vomited food, lightened by a fascinating color palette in blue and red tones .

The ultracool brand set includes two skateboards with Sherman’s original work on one hand and, on the other, her signature.

This latest version of Artist Series Skate Decks will arrive online and in stores in New York, Brooklyn, LA, London and Paris on November 9, instead in Japan on November 11th.
