Poetry and streetwear in the OAMC's SS18 collection

The 1960s youthful protests revived in Luke Meier's collection

Poetry and streetwear in the OAMC's SS18 collection The 1960s youthful protests revived in Luke Meier's collection

For the OAMC SS18collection, Luke Meier has decided to combine streetwear and poetry. The fashion show of the brand has been introduced by the poem Song of American poet Allen Ginsberg: "The weight of the world is love. Under the burden of solitude", but also some quotes from the work Howl and Other Poems appeared on the pieces of the collection as political slogans directed to the public.

In fact, this is the fil rouge of the collection, the subtle, elegant political vein emerging from the garments. The union between fashion and politics is a sensitive issue but has always seen many designers lined up in the "politicization" of fashion, transformed into communication tool through its trends, trends and fashion shows.

And so Meier chose this way, making a collection of "military" tones. Long coats in dark colors, austere cleaned jackets and stiff silhouettes bring us back to the years of youth protest. The rebellion of the 1960s resides in heavy boots and bomber with patches shouting pacifist messages, side by side with trendy and tailor-made quality items designed by Meier, which has mixed classic, floral patterns and various types of fabric.
