It isn’t surely the best climatic condition for playing football, and yet it’s maybe the most suggestive and romantic one: snow and football have never got along with each other. A few years ago, the World Cup qualifier between USA and Costa Rica, played under a snow storm, become headline news, and more recently Juventus and Galatasaray Champions League game was delayed due to a snow storm.

Within the years, the increase of organization and structure has always tried to avoid football games with snow, the Russian League for example stops for months for this purpose. It’s not common to watch games with major snowfalls, something that in the sixties, especially in England, happened very often.
