Style pills from Italy and Germany On the occasion of the new issue of the saga, we review the essential stylistic moments of their rivalry

The love story between adidas and DFB has been there for a long time. Since 1980 in fact, adidas has been producing the Teutonic's uniforms, for the first time in 1980 the three black stripes appear on the white shirt, making that jersey a football icon without equals. Before then, however, Erima dressed the Germany national team, an active German firm in the sportswear field since 1900. The fact that Erima is owned by adidas allows us to say that yes, adidas has been dressing the DFB for a long time.

They will keep on doing it also during the next Confederations Cup. The new uniform has been introduced in the game of November 11th against the San Marino, with a style that recalls the '90s, in particular the motive of the away sweater of the Italian World Cup. Just that jersey, however, ended in the center of the dispute between Thomas Muller and San Marino. After the 8-0 victory of the German team, the Bayern’s player complained against the uselessness of the games against teams like San Marino. The answer has arrived from the head of the team's press office, with a long post on Facebook that sounds like this: "despite the beautiful adidas uniforms, you will forever be those with the sandals and the white socks".

Putting the fight aside, the German team is getting ready for the friendly match with Italy on Tuesday 15th, a reissue of one of the more iconic football rivalry ever. A rivalry that has crossed competitions, finals, different champions and, above all, uniforms.

We have picked some of the most beautiful jerseys that have characterized the battles between Germany and Italy, starting from the minimal style of the 80s, to reach the colored one of the 90s.
