The road to the all star game - best e worst jersey

Filed Baseball , after the Super Bowl for the sport made in the USA there is mainly basketball. Certainly, the Finals have a special charm , but nobody can hide the fact that one of the most anticipated events of the season is the NBA All Star Week.

The idea of the All Star Game was founded in 1951 by the brilliant mind of Haskell Cohen (the same who will invent the 24-second rule ), which together with the  commissioner and chairman of the Celtics announce the first match of the stars, in Boston. We are talking about a different era , the NBA was not the most popular basketball league ( depopulated the NCAA ,before  falt in betting scandals ) and to the players was given a TV for coming down . They were all white, of course, and the decision to play East against West derives not from the division of the Conference ( which conference) but the fact that the South against the North was not exactly the best solution , not yet.

The All Star Weekend was initially just a game, there was not  the dunk contest neither the the three points challenge (which this year will participate Belinelli, the first Italian to do) let alone the Raising Star or Sprite Challenge. It was not yet the event that marked the mid-season, the quintets basis were not chosen by the fans and the field if they gave her for real.

The Week is basically structured in three days ( Thursday playing the VIP , best avoided ), where Friday is dedicated to the Rookie vs Sophomore game, Saturday is the day of the performances of three shooters, smugglers and dunk. The Sunday however the best view of basketball in planetary challenge shots alley oop , spectacular play and not just impenetrable defenses .

Over the years the competitiveness in the field has declined, and the dunk contest has gained increasing importance, after Michael Jordan, Wilkins , Nate Robinson and Vince Carter have especially made the race a cult event in American sport .

THE BEST

3. Las Vegas All Star 2007

I do not want to be nostalgic at all costs, but from 2000 onwards the jersey really beautiful began to run low. To mention the return to the past in 2004 and little else. 2. Miami All Star 1990

2. New Orleans All Star 2008

The very first All Star Game dominated by the Chosen One , in a challenge ( and unusually balanced game ) against Melo will be remembered , however, for the jersey to the limit of the complaint. In truth it is a single uniform, that one of the West, has completely demolish the style in the field. A back completely golden, about which I do not think there is much more to be added.

1. New Orleans All Star 2014

I swear, I not have anything against the city of Jazz , indeed.
