Atletico Mineiro will produce the Manto da Massa jerseys in house

Atletico Mineiro will produce the Manto da Massa jerseys in house New contract with adidas will not include fan-designed kits each year

Atletico Mineiro will continue to produce the jersey that is selected each year through a contest open to the Brazilian team's fans but, after the termination of the sponsorship relationship with Le Coq Sportif, it will be made in-house. In fact, the contract signed with adidas, the new supplier of the Belo Horizonte team, did not include the production of the jerseys among the most beautiful and sought-after in the Brazilian league. It was precisely the club's director Leandro Figueiredo who explained how during negotiations with the German brand an agreement could not be reached and that it will continue on its way with this initiative that has been met with great enthusiasm among its fans. With this move, Atletico Mineiro will be able to keep the revenues from the jerseys, which are becoming a true cult object even outside Brazil, for themselves and create their own brand under which name they will then be released.

Contests to design one of the game jerseys have also become increasingly common in Europe, as we have seen through the examples of Fiorentina and Borussia Dortmund, because of how they manage to tighten the relationship between club and fans. Moreover, in an increasingly standardized jersey landscape, the imagination and creativity of kit creators manages to bring a breath of fresh air, combining the passion of fans with the marketing possibilities of clubs.
